This is a Speaker protector for a 5.1 surround amplifier in the USA. This circuit is for speaker protection. 12-0-12 voltage is needed for this circuit. Here has 6 inputs and 6 outputs. 5 inputs and outputs for the speaker and 1 input and output for the bass speaker.

A speaker protector is a circuit or device designed to sit between your audio amplifier and your speakers. Its primary job is to act as a “safety fuse” that disconnects the speakers instantly if the amplifier malfunctions, preventing your expensive drivers from burning out.

Why You Need One

Most high-power amplifiers use a “Direct Coupled” (OCL) design. If an internal component (like an output transistor) fails, the amplifier might send the full DC voltage from its power supply directly into your speaker.

  • The Danger: Speakers are designed for AC (alternating current) audio signals. A continuous DC voltage will overheat the voice coil in seconds, melting the insulation and potentially destroying the speaker.

  • The Fix: A protection circuit monitors the output and “clicks” a relay to disconnect the speaker the moment it detects DC.

This is a 200-watt audio amplifier circuit diagram using 2SC5200 and 2SA1943. This circuit can make a maximum of 300 watts. We are using 50-0-50 voltage and 5 amperes. 50X5=250 watts. However, this circuit can operate perfectly with a 40-0-40 voltage and 5 amperes. 40X5=200 watts. Here needs to be dual voltage positive, negative, and ground voltage.
